‘View’ Fans Demand Whoopi Goldberg Be Fired Over ‘Disturbing Behavior’

Many fans of The View stuck by Whoopi Goldberg after she made unfavorable remarks about the Holocaust. However, Goldberg came under fire again after displaying “disturbing behavior” on live TV, and this time, viewers claim she had gone too far, demanding her termination.

Whoopi Goldberg was left feeling the heat after coming under fire for her statements on the air. The television personality caused quite a stir during an episode of The View while talking about parenting. “Sometimes you have to be an a** to be a parent,” the African-American host declared on live TV. According to The Sun, the comedian’s language didn’t go down so well with viewers.

One Reddit user commented, “Whoopi and Sunny’s [Hostin] foul language was a bit much today.” The user also called out the hosts for cursing while talking about tighter gun control. “Between Whoopi using the word ‘b***hin’ and Sunny referring to Republicans ‘p**sing on her leg when it’s raining’ I had to turn off,” they wrote. “I know they’re passionate about gun issues but this is daytime TV, not the Howard Stern show. Some people have kids home for the summer.”

According to the Daily Mail, viewers of the American talk show demanded that Whoopi Goldberg be fired for “going nuts” while on live TV. Fans of the show called for the producers to have a casting rearrangement after the popular show faced a series of blunders. “Someone needs to start pushing back on Whoopi,” one fan wrote. “I have a feeling someone will not let her interject one day which will cause Whoopi to go full-on nuts honestly. She has gotten exponentially worse this season so I hope next time contract negotiations are up it’s time to go, or work less days.”

A second fan reacted by writing, “I have no idea what ABC thinks is happening here. They take several women, with no real credibility and let them mouth off day after day and they’re surprised that one day someone says something stupid?”

But, that’s not all. This came on the heels of the veteran actress making headlines a few days prior when she accused her guest co-anchor, Ana Navarro, of trying to steal her job. As The View’s moderator, Whoopi is the one in charge of running the segments and deciding when it’s time to change topics or take a break. Ana, however, decided to give it a try herself and tried to end a discussion by interrupting Whoopi.

After cutting off the longtime host, Navarro then suggested it was time for a commercial break. “Maybe we talk a little bit more about that when we come back,” Ana told Whoopi, giving her a little side-eye. Wanting to put her back in her place, Whoopi sarcastically asked Ana, “Oh, you wanna do this?”

Fans revolted by not only taking to social media but also by signing a Change.org petition to “fire” Whoopi Goldberg. The petition was created after Goldberg made the controversial Holocaust remarks, but it gained traction with thousands of new signatures after Whoopi’s cursing on live TV angered viewers.

Goldberg also upset British fans when she lashed out at the Royal Family claiming they should “apologize” for slavery. “Britain ran roughshod over India for years,” Goldberg said. “Let us not forget when we talk about what needs to happen, all the folks that need to apologize. Listen, this is not new. I suspect Prince Charles when he was in Barbados had some idea because he went on and apologized, yes, he was releasing the hold that Britain has. So, perhaps someone is listening, and it’s the new group of folks I don’t know if it’s Charles but one of them.”

The Daily Mail’s article on Goldberg’s remarks about the Royal Family garnered many comments. “This is getting boring now,” Jo from Edinburgh wrote. “If a man treated my grandfather poorly I wouldn’t bang on his grandchild’s door to demand an apology. It’s absurd. Everyone is so outraged by everything and demanding apologies and or money. Just live your life and try to be a decent person, that’s all any of us can do.”

“She needs to mind her own business and look forward not backward. We don’t need to apologize for what was accepted all those years ago,” Ned Collins from the U.K. declared. Kathy D from Middlesex remarked, “So two future kings have apologized. But she’s still calling for an apology?” Then, there was Roland G from Herts, U.K. who wrote, “I’ve never owned a slave and you’ve never been one, get over it!” Even though there is no doubt that Whoopi Goldberg creates controversy on The View, the unanswered question remains: Is the celebrity host still an asset to the executives at ABC?
