After more than 20 years in Los Angeles, Ozzy Osbourne made news in August 2022 when he revealed that he and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, intended to return to the UK.
But the couple hasn’t moved across the pond yet, almost two years later. They talked about this in a recent episode of The Osbournes Podcast, which aired on Tuesday, July 16.
“We’re trying to get on a flight,” Ozzy, 75, said, responding to a listener’s question about the move.
Ozzy’s health has hindered the trip, Sharon, 71, continued. In a January podcast interview, the Black Sabbath singer disclosed that he has undergone “seven surgeries in the past five years,” including his fourth spinal surgery in September 2023. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003, and he still sees specialists to address its symptoms.
“It just seems that every time we’re set to go, something happens with Ozzy’s health,” Sharon said on Tuesday.
“We’ll get there,” Sharon added. “We want to go back so bad, but we’ll get there. Won’t we, Ozzy?”
“Yeah,” he responded, with Sharon encouraging him. “We will.”
Ozzy had previously stated that the volatile political climate and gun violence in the United States were major factors in his wish to depart.
“Everything’s f—— ridiculous there,” he told The Observer in an interview published on Aug. 28, 2022. “I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s f—— crazy.”
“I don’t want to die in America,” Ozzy added, noting the famous cemetery in Los Angeles. “I don’t want to be buried in f—— Forest Lawn. I’m English. I want to be back. It’s just time for me to come home.”
Sharon concurred, adding, “America has changed so drastically. It isn’t the United States of America at all. Nothing’s united about it. It’s a very weird place to live right now.”
According to The Observer at the time, the couple, who are parents to Kelly Osbourne, 39; Jack Osbourne, 38; and Aimee Osbourne, 40, as well as Jessica and Louis, whom the Ozzy singer shares with his first wife, Thelma Riley, had intended to return to the United Kingdom in February 2023.
The site also mentioned that they were renovating their Buckinghamshire house at the time to include a swimming pool and an Ozzy music studio.

Ozzy has been providing regular health updates on The Osbournes Podcast. After decades of battling drug and alcohol addiction, he boasted in January about the positive effects of sobriety, claiming that a visit to the doctor revealed that “my blood clots are gone” and “everything’s back to normal.”
But the emotional impact of his health issues has also weighed on the singer. Asked by a listener on Tuesday’s episode about “the one thing you’ve lost, misplaced or given up you wish you could have again,” Ozzy answered, “My health.”
“When you lose your health, nothing else f—— matters,” he said.
