Summer Bliss and Pesky Pests
I adore almost everything about summer—from beach days to backyard barbecues and basking in the glorious sunshine. However, there’s one major downside: bugs, especially mosquitoes. Nothing spoils a pleasant evening on the deck like a swarm of bloodthirsty mosquitoes. For me, their whining buzz is worse than nails on a chalkboard.
The Solution: Skeeterbag
While lighting a citronella candle might deter mosquitoes in a small area, I prefer not to have them near me at all. So, what’s the solution? According to a TikTok video I recently watched, it’s something called a Skeeterbag.
How Skeeterbag Works
A Skeeterbag is a mesh bag that attaches to the back of a 20″ box fan. When you switch on the fan, mosquitoes are drawn in (like a tornado effect) and trapped inside the bag. Simply empty the bag weekly or as needed, and reuse it to keep eliminating mosquitoes.
Effective Use and Application
The Skeeterbag and fan are most effective in outdoor spaces where mosquitoes tend to linger, like near windows or outdoor lights, particularly during dusk. It’s also useful for protecting livestock or animals, as mosquitoes often target them.
